Today in 1893 U.S. President Benjamin Harrison declared full amnesty for Mormon polygamists. Is it the government's place to define which marriages are valid and which are not?

OK Fal and I have been working on this idea of a web comic called RƏNO for a while and last night we finally got it on-line. It's an experiment in comic humor and very much a WIP but we're trying to update it every day for the time being to see if it catches on or not. Here's a link to it if you'd like to see it. Feel free to comment on it we'd love to have your feed back. http://projectrunno.smackjeeves.com/

I was meaning to write yesterday but yesterday ended up being a lazy day partly due to my lack of sleep the night before. That brings what I was going to write yesterday…. the caused of the lack of sleep.

On Tues after Aikido Fal and I met up with Christian to DDR for a while this turned into hanging out until 4am. Fal and I didn’t even get to be until after 5am so needless to say I got very little sleep that night but it was fun as hell so I’m not complaining.

Now on to other things…

On Sun I start my on-line class… This was a bitch to accomplish b/c I had to stuff about two months into less that a week but the good news is that it’s done and I’m in. I hope everything works out b/c I’ve also taken out a student loan to be able to do this. :/

Aside from trying to recover form lack of sleep I’ve been doing great. Here are the major things worth mentioning that I’ve gotten done this week:
- Achieved 7thKyu
- Went to my little brother’s Birthday party (well this was last Wed but is was in the last 7 days)
- Getting back to school (filling out and turning in 2 months of paperwork in one week)
- Getting along with Christian
- Applied for a loan.

A lot of pics... work safe though )

Yeah I think this has been a rather good week for me and I hope things keep going like this.

TTYL,

You are on a plane that's about to crash. You have time to make ONE phone call. Who do you call and what do you say?

I don't know who I'd call or what I'd really say, but this brings to mind something I read a long time ago and I can't remember where I read it or the exact quote but it said something like this:

If you knew you were dying and you had just one hour to live who would you call and what wound you say and why aren't you doing it now?

Think about this question. If you really have something to say why wait until time passes you by? Life's too short to hold grudges or live in would have, could have or should haves. Live for the moment, cherish every breath you take and never hold back for "someday" because time is limited and "someday" may never come.

Catchup: Moving, Aikido And About My LJ-ing

Heh I think I should be more active on this account then maybe my friends that don't have a LJ can at least know how I'm doing... LOL

Anyway a lot's happened in the last what has it been... almost month?

First off the new roomies didn't work out and Fal and I were forced to move into a more affordable place. Now the ironic thing is that it was a move up despite the fact it cost less and we HAD to move. There were a few things that were annoying like the move taking more than a week and the first night that we got here (the new place)we had our car broken into and our battery stolen, but all in all things here have been really good.

Another thing that's happened is I'm now attending an Aikido Dojo and yesterday was my first day. I ache but I had a hell of a lot of fun and I'm going to be attending classes at least twice a week. My next class is this evening at 6pm I hope my muscles do alright with that.

Now something else that I've been thinking about...

I think I'm going to do more with this LJ seeing how this one is the one that's in the public eye. I also think I'm going to make my other LJ Just about %100 friends only and not post any other public posts. That way I can keep my privet life amongst close friends* but still let others know a bit about me.

Anyway that's about all for now TTYL!

~Derema~

Note: *If you don't have a LJ and want to know more about what I write you can get a free account and have me friend you on my other LJ.

Hmmm I like this one and I think I'll try to answer it in a poem...

I’m the one that touches all.
I can help you see,
But I can also make you blind.
I make others' success noticeable,
But mine often goes unnoticed.
I provide energy to everyone.
I'm not any one size.
I help all living things to grow.
I embrace the world with warmth,
But I can also hurt and even kill.
I'm not angry nor am I happy,
I don't love nor hate,
I have no emotions at all.
I will exist somewhere forever,
But I never last in any one place for long.
What am I you ask?
I am the light.
Nothing more nothing less...

Well that wasn't too bad. How do you all like it?

The best thing I've ever done in my life is learn how to love unconditionally. This was also one of the hardest things that I've ever done but it was well worth it.

NOTE TO ALL WHO READ THIS: This question should serve as an inspiration to do all you can no matter what. We all NEED to do our best every day of our lives.

Remember this:
Life is short live it to it's fullest everyday!
Forgive quickly!
Love truly!
Laugh loud and often!
And never resist the urge to help one another!

Writer's Block: Facets of a Hero

What makes a hero?

View other answers

In my eyes, a hero is someone that has changes the world for the better, no matter how small the change is (one person CAN make a difference). Someone that will overcome through their weaknesses and help others overcome their own. The people who try to commit only selfless act.

Anyone can be a hero in my eyes and everyone has their own hero. From the friends and family that offer a hand to us when we’re down to our own children (human and non-human alike) that love us unconditionally. From the firefighters and police officers that risk their lives and even sometimes die to the person that helps a stranger with their unwieldy groceries. These and so many more are the people that I can call heroes.

To all the heroes big and small I want to say thank you and to everyone I hope you can find the hero that lives in you.

Best wishes,

~Derema~

Who introduced you to LiveJournal? Why did you first open an account or get involved?

View other answers

It all started when I was looking for a place to write and get connected with other people. Then on 3-2-04 I was sent this link by my best friend, Fal to a site that called itself "Live Journal." She told me that it was free and that she was on it too so I decided to give it a try. Four years later I'm still loving it and I now have two accounts I even pay for one of them.

BTW here's what I had to say in my first ever post:

A hard drive was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived

And if you had a 3 inch floppy...

Ok so how well do you all think this fist me?

E2: The Everything Test 2

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too!
Version 2 is leaner, meaner, and features a more mature and varied set of questions than the previous test. Enjoy!

Character Traits
Analytical20%
Artistic35%
Driven0%
Emotional50%
Horny71%
Independent50%
Musical55%
Optimistic0%
Outgoing0%
Political67%
Religious9%
Romantic50%
Social0%

Life Experience
Criminality0%
Intellectual63%
Relationships93%
Sexuality74%
Travel41%

Politics
Your political views would best be described as Liberal, while philosophically you tend to think like a Conservative.
  Socioeconomic
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Working Class. You make more than 38% of those who have taken this test, and 82% less than the U.S. average.

You tend to think more like an artist than an engineer.   Location-wise, you would probably be a good fit for the City.

Homophobia- what does it do to you?

  • Mar. 10th, 2008 at 5:51 PM
Kadaj
I found this on somebody's LJ and they found it somewhere and we don't know who wrote this nor where it came from, but pass it on if you want to...

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.

I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.

I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.

We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.

I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.

I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.

I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.

I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.

We are the couple who had the Realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.

I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.

I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.

I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.

I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.

I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.

I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I did not have to always deal with society hating me.

I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.

I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.

I am the person who is afraid of telling his loving Christian parents he loves another male.

Re-post this if you believe homophobia is wrong. Maybe by spreading awareness, we can help end it once and for all.

Just For you...

Those of you who have this LJ and my friends only LJ f-listed may find my posting in both of these journals to be a bit annoying. So if you don't want to hear about my life twice over I won't feel bad if you decided to un-f-list this LJ. I doubt that I'll be updating this one as often as I do my other one anyway.

Also just so you know I want to keep all of the stuff I put on this journal public so I'm not going to be posting any adult rated content on this. That sort of stuff will be kept on my other journal.

Now that that's said I'll be updating this thing some time soon, but first of all I'm going to try to change all the entries that I have made f-list or privet into public entries(... this might take a while).

Talk to you all later,

~Derema~
